Returning to Southern Manufacturing for the eleventh time, Swansea-based BAW Precision Engineering will be promoting its subcontract machining and automation expertise on Stand P24 at Southern Manufacturing 2011. The company will have a new look stand that will emphasise the company's integration into the FMT Group.

Part of the integration will see fellow group member Eurogrind sharing the stand. Eurogrind will be showing its expertise as a cutting tool manufacturer, distributor and tooling solution integrator and will have a selection of cutting tools on show that highlight its specialised bespoke tooling along with solutions for machining composites and aerospace alloys.

BAW Precision is returning to the Farnborough event with a keen enthusiasm to promote its 5-axis machining technology. The company offers over 30 years of expertise in the medical, aerospace, defence, automotive, oil and gas and pharmaceutical sectors and is a major supplier to household names such as Bosch, Continental Tyres, Honda, Borg Warner, TRW, Biomet, the Royal Mint and Airborne Systems.

The company is currently working on Olympic projects for the Royal Mint as well as servicing a European customer base with major customers in France and Eastern Europe. Components produced for some of its customers will be on show alongside examples of automation projects.

BAW Precision has built its customer base through its ability to offer comprehensive 5-axis CNC milling, CNC turning and conventional machining capacity that enables the Pontardawe-based company to manufacture anything from prototypes and short batches up to long batch runs in a wide range of materials.

The company will also be keen to promote its automation service that has resulted in the company being involved in major machine design and build projects as well as the design, development, machining and delivery of a transfer gearbox for the Audi Q7. With full 3D design and manufacturing facilities that includes software for PLC control, electrical cabinets, vision inspection, pneumatics and hydraulics, BAW conducts all project commissioning at its facility, offering the complete concept to component service. The service provides BAW with an ideal platform to deliver bespoke automation equipment, jigs, fixtures, assemblies and all types of associated tooling.
