Under one roof

The open house event held last month at 600 Europe's Heckmondwike site has been heralded as a great success for the Group.

Over the three day event distributors and customers were taken through the Group's recent restructuring and were given a detailed tour of the newly integrated site as well as demonstrations of the Colchester-Harrison flagship Tornado TT6 twin turret/twin spindle CNC turning centre, alongside established favourites such as the Alpha range of combination CNC lathes, Fanuc Wirecut and Robocut machines. Also showcased were PBI chucks, Crawford Collets, Electrox Laser marking and Gamet Bearings.

There was renewed confidence for the Group's future market position which was centred around a companywide commitment to manufacturing in the UK. At the event 600 also unveiled its new lathe refurbishment facility and a range of machine tool finance packages.

Managing director, Mike Berry remarked: “As well as creating a greater understanding of 600 Europe, the event was successful in securing a number of new orders.”

The 180,000ft² site is now a complete machine tool competence centre, providing development, applications and associated support expertise for the entire Machine Tool Division. It incorporates 600 Group PLC head office, 600 Lathes, 600 Centre, Pratt Burnerd and most recently saw the integration of the German operation, Parat, making it the centre for 600 Europe.
