Microscope CBLF

Vargus has introduced two new families to its Groovex Microscope line: a boring and profiling tool with chip breaker and high-pressure coolant (CBLF), as well as a new generation of internal and external face grooving tools, also available with high pressure coolant (HPC).

The Microscope line includes an extensive range of solid carbide tools for boring, grooving, chamfering and threading in bores as small as 0.5mm.

The new CBLF for profiling applications offers a very positive chip breaker (type ‘F’), which creates short helical chips and is designed to prevent tangling, thus eliminating downtime of the machine.

All CBLF tools also feature HPC up to 100 bar, and are designed to cool the cutting edge for longer tool life. The new CBLF tools are offered in diameters 4, 5, and 6mm, and can machine in holes as small as 4.2mm.

Additionally, Vargus is introducing an improved geometrical design for internal and external face grooving tools in the Microscope line. These tools, which can also be used for face turning, are offered with or without HPC.

They include a reinforced cutting edge, as well as a new positive chip former for better chip control. The new face grooving tools are offered in a wide range of grooving widths from 1mm up to 3.18mm. All tools are available in 6mm shank diameter.

The range of the new Microscope tools are offered in the standard VTX grade – AlTiN, PVD coated, sub-micron substrate multipurpose grade, designed to machine at medium to high cutting speeds.
