XYZ targets Poland for growth

XYZ Machine Tools’ drive to increase sales across mainland Europe has taken its next step with the appointment of Marcin Drozd as a directly employed area sales manager for the company’s range of ProtoTRAK-controlled and CNC machine tools.

XYZ Machine Tools’ drive to increase sales across mainland Europe has taken its next step with the appointment of Marcin Drozd as a directly employed area sales manager for the company’s range of ProtoTRAK-controlled and CNC machine tools in Poland.

“The potential for our products across Europe is significant and while we have had success in certain countries working through distribution, the time is right to maximise the potential business and directly employing a sales manager in Poland is the initial stage of that process,” explained Howard Bamforth, export sales director, XYZ Machine Tools.

“Marcin brings extensive experience of our product range to the role, particularly the ProtoTRAK control system, which we see as one of the key products for developing sales in the region.”

The appointment of Mr Drozd is the first step of a longer term project in Poland that will see XYZ extending its direct presence with additional sales, service and applications support personnel.

The plan is to mirror the successful sales approach applied in the UK that has seen XYZ grow into a leading supplier of metalcutting technology. The company is setting ambitious sales/growth targets for Poland with £2 million of sales envisaged in the next 18 months and double that in the following year. To assist in this, it will be embarking on a marketing drive to support this newly created field sales operation.

“The targets we are setting are we feel realistic given the size of the market in Poland and with the full support of everyone at XYZ, I am optimistic that they will be achieved,” Mr Bamforth concluded.

“The result may provide the model for future expansion of direct sales across mainland Europe in collaboration with existing sales channels.”
