A real asset

The Kaltenbach Group has acquired, through an asset deal, the manufacturing facility and brand of Gietart BV, a shotblasting and painting systems company, based in Hengelo, Holland.

The Kaltenbach Group – a leading company in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of machine tools and related software, for sawing, drilling, shearing, plate profiling, shotblasting, painting, materials handling and logistics has acquired, through an asset deal, the manufacturing facility and brand of Gietart BV, a shotblasting and painting systems company, based in Hengelo, Holland.

This investment further extends Kaltenbach's capability as a systems provider for the processing of structural steel sections and plate, through direct control and supply of Gietart shotblasting and automated painting lines.

Valentin Kaltenbach, managing director of the new company and CEO of the Kaltenbach Group said: “We have formed a 100% daughter company trading as Kaltenbach Shotblast and Painting Systems BV under the Gietart brand with the new company becoming operational from the end of November 2009. There is a proven synergy between Kaltenbach and Gietart technologies, having been independently and successfully integrated for many years within installations worldwide."

Simon Smith, managing director, Kaltenbach UK added: “This excellent opportunity will enable our customers to continue to benefit from Gietart shotblasting and painting products, with seamless ongoing sales, spares and service support.”

Gietart was established in 1922 and has become one of the leading global brands for the manufacture of quality shotblasting and automated painting lines for the steel industry.
