Alloy Wire International (AWI) has headed to Valve World Expo in Dusseldorf to promote its range of extreme corrosion resistant and high-temperature performing materials.

The company, which will be represented by a pan-European sales and technical team, is looking to target spring makers who are helping to produce the valves operating in environmental extremes commonly found across the oil and gas sector.

The Cobalt-Chrome alloys Phynox (UNS R30003) and MP35N, plus the Nickel-Chrome Inconel 625 and Inconel 718 alloys, have all proven popular in recent months and these are expected to be a major draw, especially with AWI able to offer three-week delivery lead times - the quickest in the industry.

Clients can place an order for material from as little as 3m, right up to 3 tonnes, giving them great flexibility to meet varying volume requirements.

Tom Mander, sales executive at AWI, commented: “Valve World Expo is a really important show for us and gives us the chance to demonstrate our 60-strong range of exotic alloys to companies supplying into the oil and gas sector.

“This is a show within a show, as we tend to meet a lot of spring makers both visiting and exhibiting who are always keen to talk to us about the latest market trends. They also like to discuss how the wire we supply is designed into springs that will eventually be used in valves.”

He continued: “The conversation always moves towards high performance and anti-corrosive characteristics, two attributes our materials offer in abundance.”

Mr Mander is being joined on Stand C30 (Hall C) with managing director Mark Venables, operations director Ian Fitzgerald and international colleagues Michael Sonntag (ROPA Stahl) and Stefano Cappelletti from AWI’s sales offices in Germany and Italy respectively.

In addition to the range of wire, manufacturing lead times and flexible ordering, the AWI team are also keen to talk to potential clients about its $5million investment in ensuring it has 200 tonnes of EU/DFARS material always in stock.
