Houghton, a global supplier of speciality metalworking fluids has announced a partnership agreement with EDM machine manufacturer AgieCharmilles to market Houghton's Cut-Max SE100 synthetic EDM fluid.

The agreement will give EDM users an ideal opportunity to take advantage of the combined experience of both companies to improve their EDM machining processes. Cut-Max SE100 high quality synthetic fluid offers safety for workers and the environment with enhanced surface finish and cutting speeds when compared to conventional oils. The advanced formulation is well-established in the aerospace sector and its long tank life, low usage factor and resistance to oxidation make it a cost-effective option. The product is manufactured in the UK at Houghton's Trafford Park, Manchester plant. AgieCharmilles can now supply a full range of proven consumable products to complement its machine tool sales and as part of the new deal with Houghton, is also providing a technical service package for EDM users needing NADCAP approvals for dielectrics. Houghton's European market development manager, Roy Ferrington says: “Our Cut-Max SE dielectric fluids dominate the aerospace sector in terms of performance and sales but the agreement with AgieCharmilles means that the same high performance technology is now readily available to all EDM users in all sectors. As manufacturers of EDM machinery and dielectric fluids we complement each other perfectly to help customers maximise quality and productivity.” AgieCharmilles will be at MACH 2010 and visitors to the stand will be able to see Cut-Max SE100 alongside brand new wire erosion and die sinking machines.
