Coordinated success

Aberlink's sales director, Gavin Bailey claims that MACH sales enquiries were up by 40% compared to previous years.

“MACH 2010 was a tremendous success for us. Not only were sales enquiries up by 40%, compared to previous years, but the overall quality of the leads generated was also better.”

These are the words of manufacturer Aberlink's sales director, Gavin Bailey. The manufacturer of CMMs, vision measuring systems and measurement software used the event to launch two major new products – the new, improved version of Aberlink's 3d software and a new colour touch screen/joystick which allows the user to control a CMM without returning to the PC screen.

“A tangible example of the show's success was an ‘off the stand' CMM sale to Kalstan Engineering,” Mr Bailey explained. “As attending MACH gave Kalstan the ability to compare the merits of our CMMs to those of our major competitors, all under one roof, it was particularly gratifying to receive this order.

“Another ‘off stand order' was the sale of our recently launched, portable measuring arm software to a leading F1 team. This product will allow them to standardise on one quality software package for their mix of portable measuring arms.”

He added: “Applying our normal enquiry conversion rates, anticipated sales directly attributable to our MACH attendance will easily top six figures. The upbeat mood of the show confirms Aberlink's experience over the past 12 months, both in the UK and worldwide, in terms of improved levels of business and our increase in global CMM market share.

“As sales of our Axiom Too and Zenith Too bridge CMM's are currently exceeding all our expectations, our UK manufacturing plant is working at full capacity to satisfy a full order book. Consequently, turnover within this fiscal year is more than 50% above target and we are now actively recruiting both production and development staff.”
