Excel at the ExCeL

WorldSkills London 2011, taking place from 5-8 October 2011 at London's ExCeL will be supported with 24 machines from Mori Seiki's X Class series.

WorldSkills is the world's largest international skills competition where young people from across the globe compete to become the best in their chosen skill. Mori Seiki is supporting the biannual event for the third time, after sponsoring WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007 in Japan and WorldSkills Calgary 2009 in Canada.

Mori Seiki's X Class machines – first brought to market at the end of 2010 – have evolved from the company's successful N Series, which sold 28,000 units. Following feedback from customers the machines have been significantly enhanced and offer high levels of quality, precision and reliability. From the range the NLX2500MC is a universal lathe with milling specification, and the NVX5100 is a vertical machining centre with high rigidity and high capacity for cutting.

As Dr Masahiko Mori, president of Mori Seiki explained, the company understands the importance of training and skills and has initiated its own educational programs amongst its worldwide employees. “We are delighted and honoured to be an official supplier and sponsor for WorldSkills for the third time,” he stated. “We fully appreciate the importance of high skill levels and the benefits of encouraging young people to excel in their chosen field. WorldSkills London 2011 will provide a springboard for the development of vocational training worldwide, enabling many more people to fulfil their ambitions for a prosperous future.”
