Joining the company just before the turn of the new year, Mr Bricknell will be responsible for growing sales of the Victor brand of machine tools that are well established in the UK and renowned for their reliability, stability, rigidity and build quality.
Mr Bricknell started his career as a mechanical engineering apprentice, then going into a direct production role setting various types of CNC machine tools from some of the world’s most recognised brands. Taking the next step in his career, he joined a Midlands-based machine tool company as a regional sales engineer.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining GM CNC – a family business that has an exceptional reputation for its customer service and support. To support the UK manufacturing industry for more than 30 years with thousands of machine tool sales and installations, and to be held in such high regard by UK manufacturers is testament to the family ethos of the business.
“From a machine tool perspective, the opportunity to drive sales and support of Victor machines is ideal considering I’m so familiar with the brand., having visited so many engineering companies in my previous role that were customers.
“The Victor range is extensive with everything from small-footprint CNC lathes and long bed multi-tasking turning centres through to vertical turning centres, vertical and horizontal machining centres, multitasking and 5-axis machines.”
Sales and marketing director, Nicola Howard, added: “Sales of the Victor brand is growing rapidly as more manufacturers become aware of the excellent build quality, capabilities, performance and longevity of the machines.
“To underpin our ambitions for growing the UK footprint in the UK, we are increasing our stock and demonstration machines, investing in a new showroom and we have also opened an online Victor spares shop. This offers hundreds of existing Victor customers access to a portal that will provide everything they need to keep their spindles running.”
