Hwacheon launch new machines at EMO

Hwacheon will launch several new machines at EMO 2011.

Korean manufacturer of CNC machine tools, Hwacheon Machine Tool Company, is launching several new machines at EMO 2011 not previously seen in Europe. A total of 10 machines will be demonstrated under power in Hall 26, Stand D41.

Mike Burke, UK sales manager for Ward Hi-Tech, the UK and Ireland importer for Hwacheon Machine Tools stated: “We are truly excited by the new models currently coming out of the factory which will allow us to continue to offer our customers leading edge technology, excellent build quality and exceptional value for money.”

The main focal point of Hwacheon's exhibition stand is the Hi-Tech 850L MC – a long bed, heavy-duty CNC turning centre incorporating C-axis control and powerful driven tooling. With a turning length of 3,500mm and a maximum turning diameter of 920mm, the machine is of true slant bed construction and features a 32 inch diameter hydraulic chuck (165mm bar capacity) and 60hp main drive with four stage gearbox arrangement lending itself readily to the sort of heavyweight components produced in the oil and gas and power generation sectors. Driven tooling and Y-axis options are available.

Also brand new is the Hi-Tech 450A MC, a slant bed driven tool turning centre with a maximum turning diameter of 420mm, turning length of 760mm (or 1,350mm option), spindle speeds up to 3,500rpm, 30hp main motor with gearbox drive and 12 station service driven tool turret. The Hi-Tech 450 range has options of Y-axis and sub-spindle arrangements allowing easy integration into auto loaded machining cells.

For vertical turning applications, the all new VT-650 MC has a maximum turning diameter of 800mm, turning length of 750mm, spindle speeds up to 2,000rpm and main drive motor of 40hp. The eco friendly design is based on all Hwacheon machines past and present and offers excellent rigidity. Also appearing on the stand is its big brother – the VT-1150.

The T2-2TY YSMC machine is a twin spindle, twin turret, 8-axis machine already launched in the UK at MACH 2010 and now installed in a number of UK factories. Equipped with left and right 10 inch chucks (65mm bar capacity), twin 12 station turrets, high power 20hp spindle drive motors, the machine features 30m/minute rapids in all axes. A powerful 10hp driven tool motor combined with Y-axis facility ensures the machine is a versatile performer.

The Hwacheon M9 is a full 5-axis machine using the hybrid technology of Parallel Kinematics Machining. These machining centres have no centre tubes allowing faster, easier operation and no ball joints means a stiffer bed for more accurate machining.

Hwacheon will also demonstrate five vertical machining centres on its stand from the newly launched Vesta series.
