Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has witnessed healthy growth levels over the last five years with year-on-year sales increases exceeding 15%.

In-line with the company’s ambitious strategy for expansion, ITC is conscious of maintaining its commitment to service and customer support – which is why the company has appointed Gary Murrey as the latest addition to its growing team.

Growth in the North of England has now seen the Tamworth cutting tool experts employ Mr Murrey as an application engineer to support the sales efforts of both Northern area technical sales engineers, Jason Clark and Gary Heaney. The new UK manufactured cutting tool ranges from ITC, extended Widia product lines and the continual addition of Big Kaiser technology has seen sales in the region soar.

Located in the Wigan area, Mr Murrey has nearly 30 years’ manufacturing experience that has included an apprenticeship as a machinist at shipbuilder Vosper Thornycroft and lengthy periods as a 5-axis machinist and programmer with GE Aviation, a production and applications engineer with the 600 Group, a senior manufacturing engineer at VTL and almost five years as a technical sales engineer for cutting tool manufacturers and distributors in the North West.

Commenting upon Mr Murrey’s appointment, ITC’s managing director Peter Graves said: “ITC has grown beyond recognition in the last five years with sales of our UK manufactured cutting tool solutions growing exponentially. Added to this, we are working ever closer with partners Widia and Big Kaiser to introduce more innovations and to supply a complete cutting tool solution.

“Our ability to deliver ever more extensive high-value technical solutions has facilitated increased sales and to support this, we have a necessity to support customers with the appropriate level of support.”

“Having an engineer of Gary’s calibre and background will certainly enhance customer support levels and also provide end-users in the area with a platform for improved machining and cutting tool performance. He will work in close collaboration with the technical sales engineers to establish relationships and create a foundation for the next step in ITC’s growth strategy.”
