MACH 2024: delapena and e-tech announce powerful partnership

A new era of precision grinding dawns in the UK as delapena, a leading provider of advanced manufacturing technologies, announces its strategic partnership with e-tech, a renowned manufacturer of high-performance grinding machines.

The Cheltenham-based company is now the UK distributor for e-tech grinding machines and will be promoting the new partnership on its stand at MACH. With over 95 years of experience, delapena brings its established expertise and industry knowledge to this partnership offering a wealth of in-depth applications expertise and technical excellence.

“Think of delapena as your grinding partner,” enthuses group managing director, Martin Elliott. “Our team of engineers have decades of understanding various grinding applications and will pair you with the perfect e-tech machine based on your unique application.

“No matter where you are in the UK, our support network has you covered. We’ll ensure your machines are always up and running, giving you peace of mind. We’re dedicated to helping our customers succeed – and we’ll be offering comprehensive resources and support to ensure you get the most out of your e-tech grinding machine, maximising your return on investment.”

Since its formation in the 1950s Taiwan-based e-tech has established itself as a leading player in the global grinding sector providing a wide portfolio of machines from cylindrical and internal grinders through to surface and centreless variants.

The company prides itself on manufacturing machines that offer high levels of repeatability, guaranteeing consistent quality in even the most challenging applications. But technical excellence is meaningless if the machines are difficult to operate – which is why E-tech machines are designed from the ground up to be intuitive and operator-friendly, minimising training time and maximising productivity.

At MACH, delapena will feature an e-tech EGP Mini Genie Series cylindrical grinding machine on its stand. EGP Series grinders are designed for high precision, high efficiency, and ease of operation and are suitable for a variety of industries such as aerospace, medical, tooling and general subcontracting applications.

A standout feature is their compact footprint – ideal for companies where shopfloor space is at a premium. EGP Mini Genie machines take up less than 3m² of real estate and use a 405/510mm diameter grinding wheel so they’re perfect for small workpiece machining. Distance between centres is 200mm and the centre height is 110/130mm. Maximum workpiece weight is 20kg.

On the software side, simple operation is guaranteed with e-tech’s iGrind programming software which is easy to learn and use. The software enables integration with external equipment such as measurement and automation/robotic systems.

In terms of hardware, an NN bearing designed work spindle offers heavy-duty load capacity, optimal rotation accuracy and high rigidity. The servo motor drive provides consistent speeds and torque during the grinding operation and a positive air purge system keeps grinding swarf and coolant out of the work head prolonging its life.

The cross slides are manufactured from Meehanite which offers good thermostability compensation from temperature changes.

“We encourage MACH attendees to visit our stand and witness the unveiling of the latest e-tech grinding machine, experience the precision firsthand and explore it`s capabilities,” Mr Elliott concludes.

“Consult with our grinding experts, discuss your specific requirements and discover how e-tech machines can strengthen your grinding operations.”
