On Thursday 25th May, the Made in the Midlands exhibition is set to welcome over 2,000 representatives of the Midlands manufacturing sector to the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

The show has experienced 25% growth in each of the eight years it has been running, and will make the move from the GTG Training Academy in Wolverhampton to the Ricoh Arena’s 6,000m² Ericsson Exhibition Hall.

A diverse range of companies will exhibit at the 2017 event, including Mahle Powertrain, Sertec Group and Gestamp. The exhibition also welcomes a number of educational institutions and works to engage with young people looking to work in the manufacturing industry.

Jason Pitt, CEO of Made in the Midlands, said: “Following Brexit, the growth of the exhibition reflects the optimism and drive of the manufacturing sector to work together. The Made in the Midlands exhibition is now one of the largest dedicated manufacturing exhibitions in the country.

“The fact that the show is so focused on helping manufacturers to foster partnerships with other companies in their field and their target audience means that many of the exhibitors will only attend this show, gives it a real community feel that you just don’t see elsewhere.”

The show has a line-up of guest speakers that includes Jaguar Land Rover’s supply chain & external engagement manager, Michael Mychajluk. Additionally, Stewart Towe CBE, managing director of Hadley Group and James Sopwith, group marketing and strategic account director for headline sponsors adi Group will speak amongst others.

Made in the Midlands is a growing alliance of over 360 Midlands-based manufacturing firms keen to collaborate, source and supply locally within the region whilst championing the contribution of Midlands manufacturing firms to the regional and UK economy.

Made in the Midlands president and director of Salop Design & Engineering, Christopher Greenough added: “With a record attendance of over 2,000 Midlands manufacturers and great speakers from firms such as Jaguar Land Rover supporting this event, it is testament to the growth of Made in the Midlands in recent years.

“Since joining Made in the Midlands in 2012, Salop Design and Engineering has grown as a direct result. It’s all about raising your profile and connecting with the additional 360+ members and the wider Midlands manufacturing community and this event will be the perfect opportunity to do that.”

The Made in the Midlands exhibition runs from 9am until 4pm and is free to attend for Midlands engineering or manufacturing firms and companies that work closely with the sector.
