Measurement matters for Phase Vision

Leicestershire-based 3D white light measurement specialist Phase Vision has reported 'overwhelming' levels of interest in its recently launched range of Quartz white light scanners at the GTMA's Make Measurement Matter

Leicestershire-based 3D white light measurement specialist Phase Vision has reported ‘overwhelming' levels of interest in its recently launched range of Quartz white light scanners at the GTMA's Make Measurement Matter event, held at Warwick University during September.

The event was the first time the Quartz range had been displayed at a show since its launch in June at MACH 2010 and interest was received from sectors as diverse as aerospace and automotive, as well as academic institutions.

Karen Cureton, marketing executive at Phase Vision, explained: “We spoke to several dozen visitors, each with their own specific measurement issues, ranging from reverse engineering to first object inspection, and all were highly impressed by the capabilities of the Quartz range in rapidly delivering highly accurate measurement of complex geometries while requiring minimal operator expertise.

“This showed clearly the versatility of our products and their suitability for any application involving detailed measurement, in any conditions – even factories and aircraft hangars – where some alternatives require laboratory conditions for their results to be guaranteed.

She continued: “Overall our experience shows the continued value of specialised events such as this one in highlighting the capabilities of the latest technologies to specifiers and purchasers from across UK industry.”
The Quartz range is also to be showcased to designers and engineers at the TCT Live event at Coventry's Ricoh Arena from 19-20 October 2010.

Quartz scanners from Phase Vision use a non-contact structured lighting technique which allows the measurement of large objects and also 360° measurement of complex objects at production line speeds.
