Located within steps of the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing and the recently opened Nuclear AMRC, Nikken's new facility will enable it to enhance important relationships with some of its key customers.

“Opening a new technical facility at the Advanced Manufacturing Park demonstrates our commitment to ensuring key clients have rapid access to our technical expertise,” explained group managing director of Nikken Kosakusho Europe, Tony Bowkett. “This is particularly applicable to the demanding challenges presented in the processing of hard to machine metals such as titanium, nickel alloys and higher grade steels that many organisations in the aerospace, defence, nuclear and other high tech sectors now rely on to provide world class products.

"Over the last 18 months, Nikken has continued to expand in both the UK and Europe,” he continued. “We have taken on new staff in the UK and in our overseas offices to ensure we can support our growing customer base and their specific requirements. Our involvement with both the AMRC and the Nuclear AMRC continues to develop and the opportunity to have a presence onsite can only be of benefit to all parties as we seek to deliver innovative cost-effective solutions to many of the world's leading engineering organisations.”

Nikken Kosakusho Europe will continue to maintain and develop its European warehouse, service centre and head office on Barbot Hall Industrial Estate in Rotherham, where the UK arm of the organisation was founded almost 25 years ago.
