Porsche 911 drive components are now 3D printed
Additive manufacturing offers enormous potential for both optimized and new components. 3D printing technology is already being used at Porsche in a number of areas.
Now, in a collaborative project between Porsche, Mahle, Trumpf and project partner ZEISS, highly stressed drive components have been additively manufactured for the first time. To ensure that the printed pistons meet the high demands, comprehensive quality control is required.
