Scandinavian support

In August 2010 Ficep UK moved from premises in Leeds to a new headquarters and technology Centre in Wakefield's Europort to showcase its CNC steel processing machinery.

The company reports that the purpose-built 18,000ft² office, demonstration showroom and warehouse facility has helped increase sales of steel processing machinery to construction fabrication contractors, steel stockholders and general fabricators.

As a result of this success, the company has now been appointed by its parent company in Italy as the approved sales and customer support centre for the whole of Scandinavia encompassing Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Mark Jones, managing director of Ficep UK commented: "Wakefield Europort is the ideal location for our national headquarters and has offered excellent communications within Yorkshire, the rest of the UK and now Scandinavia, especially as BMI are now offering new flight connections to Stockholm and Oslo from Leeds and Bradford airport. As our business operation continues to expand, we will be looking to recruit more technical engineering and customer support staff.”

Ficep is one of the world's leading manufacturers of CNC machines for use in the structural steel, fabrication and forging industry sectors and its new facility will be used to showcase and prepare CNC machines prior to shipment to customers. It will also provide additional capability for customer support, servicing, maintenance and parts stockholding operations.
