Schunk extends ‘trade-in’ offer

The Schunk trade-in offer, originally announced in June 2016, has now been extended to the end of the year. The deal applies to all of Schunk's toolholders and a variety of eight inch lathe chucks.

The value of sound toolholding practices cannot be undervalued, with surface finishes, tool and spindle life and performance impacted by inferior toolholding products and methods. To improve tool life and machining performance through high quality toolholding equipment, Schunk is extending the trade-in discount against toolholders.

This gives machine shops the opportunity to try the new Tendo-E compact, which the company claims offers higher machining speeds and feeds through toolholding equipment that delivers excellent concentricity, clamping forces and vibration damping characteristics.

Running parallel to the toolholding offer, Schunk is also extending the trade-in promotion of its complete range of eight inch lathe chucks. The centrifugal forces achieved during turning operations will reduce the clamping forces of the chuck as the rotational speed of both chuck and component increase. Through using lower quality lathe chucks, this reduction in clamping forces can generate poor surface finishes and precision levels whilst increasing vibration and reducing the service life of the machine spindle.

By trading-in and upgrading to a Schunk chuck, such as the Rota-S Series, Schunk says the performance parameters will noticeably improve production levels and quality.
