Southern hits new highs

Last month's Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show has been hailed a success by both organisers European Trade & Exhibition Services (ETES) and participants.

Record numbers of visitors attended the show over the two days, drawn by the opportunity to meet suppliers from virtually every branch of industry under one roof.

The show is renowned for its diversity and this year visitors and exhibitors alike were upbeat about the show. Paul Brooker, managing director of Creative Instrumentation commented: "The show's been absolutely superb. We're getting excellent results - even better than last year." Martin Canham of Harting added: "We were successful here last year and this time is just as good with plenty of good quality leads that should develop into decent prospects. Qualitetch's Michelle Laws concurred: "We are very positive about being here. It's definitely the most important show to be at as far as we are concerned."
Support for the Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Show, and the co-located Auto Aero Show has grown year on year since the event's relocation to Farnborough three years ago. Show director, Phil Valentine, said: "From the response we've been getting it is quite clear that the majority of participants now view Southern Manufacturing & Electronics as a key national event as well as a regional show. Pre-bookings for this year's event were up 15% on 2009; visitor numbers up 20% and seminar pre-bookings up 28%.”

"He continued: “We are delighted with the success of the show and it's encouraging to see that business prospects seem to be improving for many SMEs.”

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics returns to Farnborough on February 16th and 17th 2011. Meanwhile, the next show in the ETES regional calendar of industrial events is North and North West Manufacturing Technology 2010, to be held at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton on the 5th and 6th of May.
