Star GB appoints new south-east area sales manager

Derbyshire-based sliding headstock lathe supplier Star Micronics GB has appointed Dan Pinder as its new area sales manager covering the South East of England.

Mr Pinder’s most recent employment spanned several years in the sale of high-end Japanese cutting tools for an established UK supplier.

Prior to the above, Mr Pinder worked for nearly a decade in a production role for a reputable subcontract manufacturing company based in Kent, supplying the aerospace, oil and gas, defence and communications industries.

His role will involve supporting existing customers with new projects and machine investments, as well as expanding Star GB’s customer base in the region by helping prospective users realise the production advantages of sliding head technology.

With the technology becoming an increasingly important aspect of UK manufacturing, Mr Pinder’s experience and the relationships he has previously developed in the industry make him well-placed to help customers maximise their productivity by utilising Star technology.

Stephen Totty, Star GB’s managing director said: “Star has built a solid reputation in the UK not only for the sliding headstock technology we offer, but for the knowledge, dedication and passion of our employees.

“Our objective in sales is to help customers understand how to best utilise our machinery to increase productivity, reduce cycle times, be more competitive and develop their businesses by expanding their capabilities.

“I believe our sales team comprises some of the best problem solvers in the industry and I am delighted to welcome Dan to the team. I am confident that his appointment puts our customers in the South East region in very capable hands. This is very exciting news for both our organisation and the ongoing relationships with our customers.”

Star GB’s upcoming open house event from 8-10 October welcomes visitors from across the UK and Ireland and will give engineers the opportunity to meet with the sales, service and applications teams.

Mr Pinder will be present throughout the three-day event to explain the technology on show, meet with visitors from the South East region and discuss future investment plans.

Looking forward, Star GB is always interested in hearing from talented people who want to realise their potential working with a UK market leader in sliding head technology. Anyone interested in joining the team is invited to visit the company’s careers page at the link below.
