2D CNC Machinery and Halbronn Group, a leading distributor of machine tools and automation in France, have merged as part of a strategic technology alliance operating out of Hinckley under the UK company name and operational business on the home market.

Visitors to the 2D CNC Machinery stand (5650) at MACH 2016 will not only be able to see and discuss at first hand the cost-to-performance ratios of some of the market’s leading 5-axis machining centres and high precision grinding machines, but also be able to hear how the Halbronn Group’s merger with 2D CNC has instantly created a single source of high technology machines and allied automation.

The just announced deal will, says both Halbronn Group and 2D CNC Machinery: “Create an unmatched force in high technology manufacturing solutions with the addition of the OKK range of vertical and horizontal multi-axis machining centres and automation to the existing 2D CNC portfolio.

These include Mitsui-Seiki, Toyoda Machinery, Wele, Reiden and Fermat vertical, horizontal and 5-axis machining centres, cells and systems and Toyoda’s range of high specification grinding machines.”

2D CNC Machinery directors David Holden and David Johnson maintain the company will continue to operate from its 7,500ft² technical centre in Hinckley with added investment and increased levels of technical support, service and application engineering. The centre accommodates a large showroom and areas for service and spares, a customer training school and an engineering centre for the development of turnkey packages, in-depth machining demonstrations and customer acceptance trials.

On show at MACH 2016, 2D CNC Machinery’s comprehensive range of machines will be represented by the launch of an OKK 5-axis VC-X350 vertical machining cell with Halbronn’s own design and developed pallet system and robot. Also an OKK HM-X6000, 5-axis horizontal machining centre will be shown for the first time in the UK.

From 2D CNC’s Wele product range, an AA 1365 high precision vertical machining centre will be under power with X-axis of 1,300mm, a Y-axis of 650mm and Z-axis of 600mm with 18kW motor with gearbox and spindle speeds available from 8,000 to 15,000rpm.

The Halbronn Group based in Paris is a leading distributor of machine tools in France. It employs 61 people with sales in excess of €35 million. In addition to Paris, four showrooms are strategically located around the country and as part of its European strategy, a branch was set up in Poland in 2013 with six people and in 2014 a facility in Belgium employing seven.

Like 2D CNC, Halbronn has established strong partnerships with customers on major industrial projects especially in the aerospace, automotive, medical and capital goods sectors. Over its 30 years of business, over 5,000 installations of equipment have been made throughout Europe.

Commenting on the development, Mr Holden said: “By joining with Halbronn Group, 2D CNC Machinery’s future looks very exciting. It has given our customers – and prospective clients – an enviable one-stop source for the latest machining and automation systems from class-leading suppliers as well as superlative technical engineering development skills.”

Similarly, Halbronn Group director Bernard Bettan added: “Our merger with 2D CNC Machinery is seen as the perfect fit with our existing product ranges and applications engineering development skills sets. This will create for users across all industry sectors an unmatched product and service offering.”
