With over 4,000 Vauxhall vans sold last month, it was a 35% increase on October 2018 and 5.25% point increase in market share.
In January it was announced the all-new Vivaro van would be built in Luton, securing 1,250 jobs at the automotive factory. Investment in the new vehicle is helping increase the plant’s production capacity to 100,000 units per year.
Vauxhall’s all-new Vivaro van is a based on a state-of-the-art platform and available in two lengths (L1H1 4.95m and L2H1 5.30m). Body styles include panel van, doublecab for up to six occupants and a platform chassis.
Through three generations, the Vivaro has been a sales hit, selling over 290,000 in the UK since 2001. Vauxhall is one of the UK’s largest light commercial vehicle manufacturers with over one million Vivaro-type vans built at its Luton plant, since production started in 2001.
Next year, Vauxhall will launch the new Vivaro-e next year, the pure battery electric version of its best-selling medium van.
Following the addition of the all-electric Corsa-e and plug-in hybrid Grandland X Hybrid4 to its product range, the Vivaro-e marks the next chapter in Vauxhall’s electrification strategy. In addition, an electric variant of the Combo Cargo will be added in 2021.
