Winning for Britain

Bearing manufacturer, Revolvo has announced its largest ever single export order, worth £1.2m, from major Indian steel producer Jindal Steel and Power.

The importance of manufacturing to the future of the UK economy was demonstrated during April when Lord Mandelson, the former Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, visited Revolvo, one of the UK's most enterprising bearing manufacturers.

The visit from the Business Secretary came after Revolvo announced its largest ever single export order, worth £1.2m, from major Indian steel producer Jindal Steel and Power – a £6 billion company, with 12 plants in India and two in the USA.

Accompanying Lord Mandelson on his visit to view Revolvo's new purpose-built manufacturing facility, at Yorks Park, Dudley in the West Midlands, was Ian Austin, Minister of State for Regional Affairs (West Midlands). During the visit, the two ministers were able to see for themselves the significant investment Revolvo has made in new machinery and its manufacturing facility – pivotal in securing the Jindal Steel order.

The delegation was also shown the split roller bearings currently being manufactured as part of the Jindal Steel contract. After the factory tour, Lord Mandelson commented: “Revolvo is a great company investing in new machinery, producing world beating products and winning business for Britain. They are exactly the sort of modern manufacturing company we need to do well for the future of the economy.”

“The recognition of our manufacturing and export achievements at the highest level is vindication of our strategy of consistent investment in our personnel, design, manufacturing facilities and service,” added Adrian Menzies, Revolvo's sales and marketing director.

“The synergy in our operations that we have been able to achieve through these investments is enabling us to penetrate new international markets, and to revolutionise traditional market sectors, especially with our innovative SRB split roller bearing design, which offers improved performance and reliability to reduce user operating costs.”
