A smart coolant and oil system for lights out machining

Sub-CNC Precision, a machining firm producing turned and milled parts across many sectors, has used Wogaard solutions to work 24/7.

During the pandemic, the company became involved in many different projects, although the one to highlight was the Ventilator Challenge, where significant UK industrial, technology and engineering businesses from across the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors, came together to produce medical ventilators for the UK.

So, in order to deliver all the different pieces that were required urgently, Sub-CNC started to work 24/7. Night shifts were practically unmanned, which brought other types of issues that needed to be solved, including residual coolant in the swarf bins.

Using soluble coolant and neat oil, with Wogaard Coolant Saver and Oil Saver, that residual coolant was automatically being collected during the whole day but also especially during the unmanned hours, solving the residual coolant issue.
