Zeiss additive manufacturing seminar: from powder to performance

Zeiss will be hosting a free seminar at the AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC) on 21st February 2019 dedicated to the topic of additive manufacturing.

3D printing processes, also known as additive manufacturing, are increasingly becoming part of industrial production chains. This is especially true in safety critical areas such as aerospace, medical technology and automotive industries, where demanding standards apply. The biggest challenge is to prove the absolute reliability of 3D printed parts.

To tackle this, Zeiss has created a new, integrated inspection process – Zeiss 3D ManuFACT, successfully combining the expertise of all Zeiss technologies: material microscopy; 3D scanning; Computed Tomography; tactile and optical measurement; and data analysis tools. According to Zeiss, only this integrated process will provide trusted knowledge and certainty about the reliability of 3D components.

For customers who want to learn more, Zeiss will be covering the following topics at the seminar: light, X-Ray and scanning electron microscopy techniques; powder characterisation, grain orientation (EBSD) and compositional mapping; CT inspection and measurement solutions; 3D scanning solutions; and quality data management.

Attendees will have the chance to hear from international experts and network with leading technologists and researchers. There will also be the opportunity to take a tour around the AMRC facility itself.
